Poker Hand Rankings

These are the hands ranked in order from best to worst:

Royal Flush

Ten, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace all of the same suit.

Straight Flush

Cards of five consecutive ranks, all of the same suit.

Four of a Kind

Four cards of any one rank, and any other card.

Full House

Three cards of one rank, and two cards of second rank.

Flush

Five cards of the same suit that don’t make a straight.

Straight

Five cards of consecutive ranks, not of the same suit.

Three of a Kind

Three cards of the same rank and two random cards.

Two Pair

Two cards of one rank, two cards of another rank, and a random card.

One Pair

Two cards of the same rank and three cards of different ranks.

High Card

Five cards of different values, not consecutive and not suited.

When two players have the same type of hand, the highest set of four (Four of a kind), the highest set of three (Full House, Three of a kind), the highest pair (Two Pair, One Pair) or the highest card (Straight Flush, Flush, Straight, High Card) determine the winner. In case two players have the exact same hand, the pot will be split evenly among them.
